Paten Circle I
Danielle Mourning explores self-portraiture through photography and mixed media photographic paintings, often engaging with themes of personal or family history.
Mourning revisits family sites, and re-stages historical narratives as a means to explore concepts of identity, contemporaneity, and the minutia of life, living vicariously the conceptualized experiences of her ancestors as handed down to her through her grandmother’s stories and family photo album.
